Morinaga & Co., Ltd. (TYO 2201) today announced that it will reducing the amount of plastic used in mainstay product in Jelly from February 2020, and will also begin using biomass ink on packaging from March 2020.

Based on the Morinaga Group Environmental Policy, the Morinaga Group engages in environmental initiatives covering all facets of its corporate activities, and aims to create a sustainable supply chain.

As part of its environmental initiatives, the Morinaga Group will reduce by 9% the amount of plastic used in the packaging of six in Jelly products*1 from February 2020. This will be achieved by reducing the amount of plastic used in the cap and spout parts of the packaging. For all in Jelly products manufactured from March 2020, some of the ink used on the packaging will be changed to biomass ink*2. Furthermore, in addition to reducing the amount of plastic, the user-friendliness of the cap design has also been enhanced to make it easier to open.
